This was an expensive trip but worth it in my opinion. We stayed in great hotels, ate amazing food, the bus was impressive, the sights seen were stunning & everything was well organized and managed.
This is the second time we have used Relaxing Journeys and cannot fault any aspect of their service. We’ll be using them again in the future without hesitation.
Trip was fantastic, went smoothly with no issues checking in, good accommodation and customer service, car parking was an unexpected extra expense and slight issue in some instances.
We live in Ireland and have just returned from a wonderful, magical 35 days in New Zealand, touring both islands on a self-drive basis, organized in detail by Sally Laurie, of Relaxing Journeys. I cannot praise Sally’s efforts and organisation enough, from our initial enquiry to receiving the final itinerary. Everything worked like clockwork, and initial qualms that some days’ travel might be excessive and tiring proved not to be the case. New Zealand is a stunningly beautiful country with excellent roads, and full of friendly and helpful people, and we have returned with unforgettable memories – not to mention gigabytes of photos and videos! We thoroughly recommend the services of Sally and Relaxing Journeys.

We are 2 ladies travelling to NZ for the first time. Sally made all the arrangements and we didn’t have any issues with the pickups, trip to Milford Sound and accommodation. everything was perfect. we really enjoyed sightseeing and walking around Queenstown. Thank you for a lovely, trouble free experience.

Train trip was just amazing. The outside viewing carriage made it really exciting.
The whole trip was fantastic, accommodation ranging from good to great. The car the Ezi rental people provided was brand new so no issues there. The included activities were very informative and couldn’t have found out more about the areas otherwise. The only thing I wouldn’t do again is go to Nelson unless was continuing down the west coast, nothing wrong with Nelson but it was a long way to retrace steps. On reflection 2 nights in Ta Anau would have been perfect even though we did make it to Queenstown before dark, it would have been good to spend 1 more night in that great town. Other than that, everything worked out fine apart from not being able to do the Shotover Jetboat which was out of everybody’s control. The train trip was fantastic, I would recommend that to anybody who asks. We have done 2 days on the Rocky Mountaineer and the 5 hours on this train you get to see the lot that you see on that train.
Sally went above and beyond to ensure our trip went smoothly including checking in a few days beforehand. Top service and will definitely book through Relaxing Journeys again.
Whole process was very easy with Sally guiding me through the whole process. Not once did I get the impression that nothing was too hard to accommodate our requests and changes. I am sure Sally had a direct line to Mother Nature as the only bad weather we experienced during our 32 days was when we were travelling. At no stage did we have any of our activities interrupted by bad weather. We found most of the accommodation that was booked for us was above our expectations. There was only 1 hiccup at one motel which was outside of Sally’s control, and I raised my concerns directly with the Motel owner. Sally was informed of the problem and was very apologetic. Overall, I would most certainly use Relaxing Journeys again for my next trip to New Zealand.
We had a fabulous time on our overnight cruise on the Fiordland Jewel. The staff were excellent, a lovely bunch of young people. Francis & his team were brilliant & the food was top notch, I really enjoyed the venison tartare entree & the crumbed cod main meal, both delicious. Just want to make a special mention of Phil, the driver who drove us from Queenstown to Milford. He was fabulous, entertaining & informative company & a great representative for the company & region, a true ambassador. He went above & beyond by spending a couple of hours with us on Sunday morning to fill in the time while we waited for our Air Milford flight back to Queenstown, taking us to some local spots in Milford & to a great place for coffee & croissants. We really appreciated that & his company made the drive to Milford & the next morning every bit as memorable as the amazing scenery in Milford Sound on the cruise. Thanks Phil & thanks to the Fiordland Jewel & Relaxing Journeys Company for a wonderful experience of a part of NZ we had never been to. Superb!
