Itinerary
This itinerary incorporates a 3 day/4 night Fiordland Walks package with 1 night pre-accommodation in Queenstown.
On arrival to Queenstown make your way to the Super Shuttle departure point to meet your transfer who will take you to your first nights accommodation.
Make your way to 43 Camp Street, Queenstown where you will board your Tracknet shared transfer to Te Anau departing at 10:30am. Please be at this location 15 minutes prior to your departure time. This time may be subject to change and will be noted on your final itinerary. Upon arrival into Te Anau at 1:00pm, you will make your way by foot to the centrally located Distinction Luxmore Hotel, which will be home for the next four nights.
Begin your awe-inspiring experience with a spectacular helicopter flight to Luxmore Hut from Te Anau. Explore the expansive alpine tussock field and enjoy mountain views. Then hike down the mountain on a well-formed track, descending through native beech forest and passing under towering limestone bluffs to reach the sandy lake shore for a short water taxi ride back to Te Anau.
Walking distance: 8-16km, 4-6hrs of walking, moderate level.

Departing from Milford Sound we begin with a short boat ride to Sandfly Point. The walk meanders alongside the cascading Arthur River through lush rainforest to Giant Gate Waterfall. This spectacular sight is best viewed from the swing bridge spanning the river. After your walk enjoy Milford Sound’s awe-inspiring scenery from the comfort of a small boat cruise, as you sit back and relax. Cruise the length of the fiord and experience the beauty of Mitre Peak in all its grandeur.

Ascend through lush, temperate rainforest to emerge into the stunning alpine environment of Key Summit, with panoramic views of high snowy peaks, alpine lakes and glacial carved valleys. Enjoy lunch on the summit amidst the alpine herb field or in a nearby shelter alongside Lake Howden. This walk offers an incredible day out in the heart of New Zealand’s Southern Alps with awe-inspiring views.
Walking distance: 7km, 5hrs of walking, moderate level
Make your way to the Tracknet bus stop located next to your hotel, where you will depart to Queenstown at 11:30am. Please be at this location 15 minutes prior to your departure time. This time may be subject to change and will be noted on your final itinerary. Upon arrival into Queenstown at 2:15pm, your Great Walk package will come to an end.
