Welcome to Auckland! Upon your arrival at the airport, collect your luggage and make you way to the airport shuttle collection point who will transfer you to your accommodation where you will spend the night. The evening is yours to explore the ‘City of Sails’ at your leisure
Today, embark on a picturesque expedition across the North Island. Setting off from Auckland and bound for Wellington aboard the Northern Explorer, relish in premium service as you soak in the dynamic vistas from fields to mountains. Upon reaching New Zealand’s capital, make your own way to your accommodation where you will be spending the next two nights.
The day is yours to explore Wellington at your leisure. Take a stroll along the waterfront, immerse yourself in New Zealand history with a trip to Te Papa, or unravel the behind-the-scenes movie magic of the Lord of the Rings and Hobbit trilogies with a trip to Weta Workshop.
Start your day by heading to the harbour, where you’ll embark on a leisurely voyage aboard the Interislander Ferry, journeying from Wellington to Picton. Upon reaching the northern tip of the South Island, make your own way to your accommodation where you will spend the evening. The remainder of the day is yours to wander and discover Picton at your own pace.
Depart on a scenic voyage along the South Island’s coastline today by hopping on the Coastal Pacific train. Traveling from Picton to Christchurch, this railway adventure guarantees breathtaking vistas where the sea mingles with majestic snow-capped peaks. Once you have arrived in Christchurch, make your own way to your accommodation where you will be spending the next two nights, and take advantage of the remainder of the day to discover the charms of the ‘Garden City’.
Commence the final segment of your rail adventure today by stepping onto the TranzAlpine for a round trip from Christchurch to Greymouth (ending back in Christchurch). Indulge in a meal within the cosy confines of the cabins or venture out onto the observation deck to fully immerse yourself in the untamed beauty of New Zealand’s South Island. Take in the awe-inspiring mountain vistas and the mesmerising turquoise hues of the winding rivers. From east to west, this scenic expedition guarantees indelible scenery and cherished memories throughout the journey.
