A very enjoyable day, with an informative driver Racheal. Tour of Waitangi treaty grounds was well worth the extra. We saw several pods of dolphins and although the weather made it touch and go whether we got to the Hole in the Rock - we made it. I wasn't so impressed with the packed lunch (chicken in salad was dry and strange to have three types of savoury crackers) but had we not had it, fitting in lunch would have been difficult.

Great Sights driver was very thorough in his commentary about the Maori culture and with New Zealand's history. I learned a lot on this tour that I was prepared enough to start learning more about New Zealand on my main tour (14-day New Zealand Vista with AAT Kings). The driver was very delightful and comedic at times! The boxed lunch on the boat taking us to the Cape Brett and Whole in the Rock was tasty! The scenery was spectacular, definitely a highlight of my trip.

Great tour and good value for the money. Bus trip, tours and boat trips where organised exceptionally well and even included a fast boat link back from sea in order to catch the bus back. Waitangi Treaty tour was a highlight.

The weather was against us today, we didn't make it to Cape Brett, however the cruise round the other islands and seeing the dolphins up close was fabulous. Was disappointed with the tour of Waitangi Treaty as felt it was very rushed, I certainly wouldn't have added it on to my tour if I had known that it was so time limited.

My husband and I were very disappointed in this tour. We called on Saturday to inquire on trip status since heavy rain and winds were predicted. We asked to rebook/or refund due to weather on Monday. The operator said no to all. The tour would sail to all sites but may not take the ship through the Hole in the Rock. Once we boarded the Captain announced that due to rough seas we would not go to the Hole in the Rock & only tour the inner islands. The crew asked passengers if they wanted to cancel! Per the website/tour operator, this was a half day cruise, however, 1:30 - 3:30 is not half day. The bus driver/guide tried to talk and discuss the countryside on the way north but many of the sites were not visible due to rain & fog. No dolphins or whales were seen. Most islands were shrouded in visibility due to rain & fog. The last four islands were dropped from the itinerary including the Hole in the Rock. No island walk like other passengers since we had to catch the coach back to Auckland by 4 pm. In addition, the picnic lunch was warm lettuce salad w/chicken, chips & juice. It was hard to eat salad without a table + high waves + no utensils/napkins were provided. We asked for exchange, but crew said no but offered to put in refrigerator? So we just rode 4 hours in coach for a 2 hour cruise to see fog/island outlines? The Heritage Walk while informative, was in the pouring rain, the guide was rude to an elderly couple who had no rain gear and we kept having to move since another tour was coming behind us. I would not advise anyone to book this day trip from Auckland unless you can be absolutely certain the weather will be fine on the day of your tour.

It was a rainy day and a long drive there from Auckland. We really enjoyed the driver Dennis' company and the little timely tidbits of information he threw out along the way, especially about the history of the sinking of the Rainbow Warrior. We were also impressed by the wealth of knowledge it seems all InterCity bus drivers have to share with us. The Waitangi history tour was informative, but felt a bit rushed, would have been good if we could have also watched the cultural performance. We almost didn't get to go on the dolphin watch and hole in the rock because apparently there weren't enough people who wanted to go, but it worked out in the end. They did a great job pointing out the dolphins, trying to get them nearer to the ferry, and also in trying to get as close to the hole in the rock as possible for good shots. We also spotted a little seal! The 'picnic' lunch was a tad disappointing though, as it was just packed salad, a small bottle of juice and some crackers and chips. We'd have liked something more substantial, like a burger. All in all, it was a good tour.

A fantastic Experience, the operating staff is very cordial and make you comfortable. The Cruise is the high point of the tour. We returned with lots of pleasant memories and already started thinking as to when in future we can return to NZ. Keep it up!

My wife and I really enjoyed this tour. I signed us up for the tour because I thought the boat trip out to Cape Brett would be fun and the bus ride on the way would provide a scenic insight into rural New Zealand. The tour did both well. But the highlight was the tour of the Waitangi treaty grounds. We had fun and learned a lot on this well-planned and timed tour. Malcolm was an excellent, informative guide. We bought our own lunch of fresh, tasty sandwiches at the cafe where the bus stopped halfway to the Bay of Islands and enjoyed them on the boat. We saw dolphins, but the sea was too rough for the boat to go through the Hole in the Rock. Give this 4.5 stars!

This trip was not what I expected given the idyllic pictures of the Bay of Islands. We enjoyed the scenery and commentary on the drive up to the Bay, but too much time was spent looking for dolphins which resulted in a very rough trip to the 'Hole in the rock' and little time enjoying the islands. Waitangi was interesting with a good guide.

Good tour, but the bus temperature was quite high making the journey uncomfortable, and the packed lunch was of low quality.

We had a fanastic day out at the Bay of Islands and Cape Brett. Your drivers were very informative, humerous and made our trip totally enjoyable. My family and myself will remember both tours we had with your company for a long time. We had a great holiday (27 days in all) in N.Z and hope to return some time soon. We would recommend your company to any of our friends travelling to N.Z.

We had a great trip. Bus driver peter was fantastic his commentary was exceptional and at the boat leg of the trip the operators were so friendly and all went to clockwork. Found out some interesting info on NZ history at the treaty house as well. Would recomend to others as it was a very memorable holiday.
