Tour Itinerary

The name Waiheke means "cascading waters" in Maori, but today it is the 'soil' which is highly acclaimed; being the perfect mix of clay and volcanic rock suited to growing grapes of a "wonderful consistency" and "particularly smooth tannins of Cabernet, Sauvignon & Merlot", according to Time magazine. People living on the island are from diverse nationalities and are colourful, creative and passionate about their community and well being.

A full day tour which combines an Auckland City Tour in the morning with an afternoon Ferry to Waiheke Island for a guided tour of three wineries (Mudbrick Estate, The Goldie Room and Te Whau), where you can sample the wines and enjoy delicious finger food.

See first hand why Auckland is known as the 'City of Sails' as you enjoy a trip over the Harbour Bridge.  Visit the famous Auckland landmark of Mount Eden, a dormant volcano whose summit offers excellent panoramic views of the city and harbours. From this fantastic vantage point you will see evidence of Auckland’s volcanic history, the most significant being the youngest volcano of Rangitoto Island at the entrance to the Waitemata harbour.

The sightseeing tour also takes in the Auckland Domain, the city’s oldest park which is situated on a 62,000 year old volcano.  In addition to these natural features the city sights tour also takes in the trendy shopping area of Parnell Village with its historical buildings that have been transformed into boutiques, antique, craft and specialty shops. Your tour will then take you along the scenic waterfront route of Tamaki Drive before returning to Downtown.

Tour concludes with the return Ferry trip from Waiheke Island back to Auckland Ferry Terminal.

  • 5Tour was awesome and everything ran exactly on schedule. he city tour hit the major areas and helped us get acclimated to the city. The wine tour was amazing. So beautiful. Both coach drivers were extremely knowledgeable and very informative. A very, very enjoyable experience. Would definitely use this company in the future.

  • 5Beautiful ride on the ferry from Auckland to Waiheke Island - then onto the tour vehicle, with a driver who was friendly, informative, and very entertaining. Sampled and snacked at 3 lovely boutique wineries and enjoyed the scenic attributes of the island along the way. My only complaint is that we didn't purchase any of the wine! :) This was one of three Relaxing Journeys we took on this visit - and we would recommend this company HIGHLY!
