  • 4Wine Tour was great. Stonybridge Vineyard was my personal favourite, and the lunch was lovely. Our bus driver Horst was very informative and had a great sense of humour. I travelled with a group of 12 and every one of them enjoyed the tour. Would definitely recommend to others.

  • 5Excellent tour. Easy to find at wharf, pick up on island went smoothly. Three wineries and olive farm were excellent as was the included lunch. Couldn't have had a better day! The comment on our reservation printout --- that was to phone 24 hours in advance was unnecessary and can, in fact make one anxious as most 'old' people don't use cell phones. (RJ. Sorry Robin, but that is their official line, so we think we should pass that information on.)

  • 3We had a very interesting Taste of Waiheke experience. Our tour got started late and we had a limited amount of time at our first stop. Then, as soon as we left the first vineyard the bus broke down. Luckily, we were switched to a new bus quickly. Since we were at Stoneyridge right before New Year's Eve we didn't get much of a chance to look around. They were setting up for a huge party so there were people and equipment everywhere. We only sampled two wines and then you had to pay for any extras. I was a little disappointed that we only sampled one wine at Wild on Waiheke and then 3 beers. I thought we could choose wine or beer, but there wasn't a choice. The best part was definitely Mudbrick Vineyard. The venue is beautiful and our tour guide really took the time to show us the property and provide us some information about their vineyard. Overall, the tour feels very rushed. You only have about 30-45 minutes at each vineyard with only 1-2 tastings at each location. I'm not sure this tour is really worth the money.

  • 2We had to line up twice to get our tickets then line up again to board the ferry. The tour was running behind schedule from the start and were rushed at every stop. Then we ended up waiting for a ferry nearly an hour before we boarded to head back to Auckland. On the upside all the places we stopped at were amazing and the individual tours were great. Thanks, we love New Zealand.

  • 4We really loved the day. The tour guide / bus driver was friendly and knowledgeable. She certainly helped make the trip very enjoyable. The group size was good, so there was no sense of being herded. The range of wineries was excellent and the views from the top of Mudbrick were fabulous. As keen photographers, we'd've liked a few more photo stops in order to take advantage of more of the beautiful scenery but we recognise that our interests have to be balanced with the interests of others. Lunch was pleasant and in a lovely environment. The only disappointment was that the gluten-free member of our group had a very limited option (a bowl of leaves) with no protein, however vegetarians were well catered for. A very worthwhile trip, which we'd fully recommend.

  • 4Overall I really enjoyed the Taste of Waiheke tour. I thought that the wineries and olive mill that were visited were excellent, and each place gave ample tastings and information about their products. Also, the lunch served at Stonyridge Vineyard was very good. My only complaint would be that the tour felt a bit rushed. I would have appreciated having an extra 15 or so minutes at each stop.

  • 4There were three people who missed the ferry and held up the bus. That caused all our stops to be rushed. The majority should not have been held hostage for a small minority who were late.

  • 3The locations visited during the tour were great and a nice variety. However, the timing of the tour was far too rushed. We had very minimal time at each location, so there was hardly any time to do additional testings. Given that the tastings provided during the tour at each location were so skimpy (only 2-3 tastings per location), it would have been nice to have more time to break out on our own to explore each location and do further tastings. It is called a full-day tour, but it doesn't technically start until 12pm and ends at 3:45pm. In my opinion, that is not a full-day tour, and probably the reason that we felt so rushed: too many locations in too little time.

  • 5The tour was excellent. The people at the wineries and olive place were most informative, friendly and professional. The tour guide, Tracy (I think) was terrific. She knew her stuff and was entertaining. This was an excellent way to start our trip to NZ and we will definitely recommend it to any friends travelling to Auckland in future.

  • 5The tour leader was fun and friendly and made for an entertaining guide for us for the day. She knew so much about the Island and gave us heaps of history and insight into Island life as we drove between the wineries. The wineries we visited were great, greeting us with wines as we arrived to save on waiting, staff were friendly and informative. Lunch was light and delicious and just what you need when on a wine tour! The olive farm was a great venue as well. I would recommend this tour to my friends and family I was really impressed with it!

  • 5Could not fault the tour. I was a little sceptical because we usually don't do bigger group tours on a larger bus. This felt like a small group tour. Tracey was exceptionally informatative, funny and added to the whole experience. I would recommend this tour without hesitation. Congratulations to the team that coordinated the tour you have done a great job.

  • 3I think you need another rating value - I found my tour 'good' but not 'very good', I dislike the word 'average'. I digress..positives of the tour include 1) bus driver was knowledgeable, 2) bus was clean, well maintained, air-conditioned & 3) people on the tour were lovely. Negatives of the tour include 1) wineries need to have their wines readily available for purchase as they were not and it was also unclear how to go about purchasing, prices etc 2) wineries were stingy with the wine tasting, each tasking was about 20ml 3) too few tasting experiences as I only drink wine and thus tasted only 6 wines 4) bus driver was blunt/ abrupt and verging on rude. I'm Australian but I don't need to hear put downs disguised as jokes for the whole day (even though I laughed along with her, and made no comment). 5) very hard for people to hear on the bus, suggest asking people who are hard of hearing to sit near the front (was fine for me, but an older couple sat opposite me and I know he did not hear a thing). Finally, I would recommend this tour to people as it was a nice day out on the island and a great way to see all the areas, however I really do think the wineries need to loosed the wine corks a little.

  • 5We did not have a lot of time whilst holidaying in Aukland, we are so glad we chose the Waiheke winery tour. From the 40 minute trip to the island by ferry, to the guided bus tour taking in wine, beer, cheese & olives at various locations with lots of tasting and information, we had a great time. Everyone went out of their way to make the day a success with their informative talks and lots of humour. We would certainly recommend the trip to anyone wanting a great day out.

  • 5We had a fabulous day! The driver was funny & knew so much about the island. The wineries were just beautiful! Jonathan our Aussie guide was just great as was the food & wine. The beer tasting, Olive Oil tasting, were all just so good. We bought a little bit of everything to bring home. Finished at The Mudbrick where we stayed on the deck enjoyed a bottle of wine & the magnificent views, watched a wedding then had dinner in their fabulous restaurant. Caught the ferry back at 9.30pm after one wonderful day/night. Definitely coming back!

Being that I am North American based and I travel the world for a living it is certainly a delight to have had such a beautiful tour as this. Everything right down to the weather was perfect. • 4Our tour guide Chris was a very nice, well informed guy, who pointed out lots of local sights and kept us smiling with his sense of humor. The wineries and olive oil tastings and - Wild on Waiheke - were terrific. The lunch provided was delicious and more than adequate. We'd recommend this moderated priced daytrip to anyone.

  • 5Excellent value for money with no pressure to buy wine at any of the visited sites . People were very courteous ,efficient and friendly and the wines tasted were of good quality and value .

  • 5I really enjoyed the tours and the driver was knowledgeable, friendly and professional. The vineyards were beautiful, wines and lunch delicious and scenery breathtaking! Also, appreciated getting the bus pass to travel around the island afterwards. The only minor suggestion would be to have more time at the wineries in order to actually purchase the wines. It seems by the time lunch was done it was time to board the bus and it takes time to decide which wine to buy--especially if one is traveling. But no worries (love that NZ saying)
