Ziplining, Wining and Dining!

Enjoy a 40 minute ferry cruise through the Hauraki Gulf from Auckland to Waiheke Island. Be greeted by your guide on arrival and taken on a mini-tour of Waiheke en route to the EcoZip site on Trig Hill for a 10.15am & flying fox zipline and guided hike experience.

Three 200 metre dual ziplines will fly you smoothly side-by-side with a partner, friend or relative down into the stunning tract of original and regenerating native bush. Experience these state-of-the-art flying fox ziplines and an eco-immersive forest walk on breath-taking Waiheke Island. Your guide will also talk about the local flora and fauna and the conservation of this spectacular natural environment on your scenic walk back to base.

At the end of your zipline tour you will be dropped to Stonyridge Vineyard to join the “Taste of Waiheke” wine tour. Here you'll enjoy a tour with tastings, plus a sumptuous light lunch. You then depart for Rangihoua Estate, which introduces you to Waiheke’s olive growing industry (includes olive oil tasting).

A stop at Casita Miro will leave you enchanted with the tastes and feelings of the Mediterranean. Your tour is concluded with final tastings at the beautiful Mudbrick Vineyard before returning to the ferry terminal. Once the tour is over, you can either board the next ferry, or use your All Day Bus Pass to further explore the island.

Waiheke Island Ziplining, Wining & Dining Reviews

Reviews from past clients of Relaxing Journeys. 4 Reviews. Average Rating 4.0 of 5.

  • 4The staff at the Ecozip were very friendly and knowledgeable. The coach driver for the rest was full of interesting information and friendly. The wine tastings were a bit rushed.

  • 5We greatly enjoyed Ziplining and our guides were attentive, fun and reassuring. The wine tour was interesting as we had not been to those places before and lunch was just right. A lovely relaxing day out.

  • 4Zip lines and nature hike was great, although we wish there were more zips, the guides were awesome and we enjoyed their conversation. I suggest ending on the most engaging winery (the one that had beer and games) mud brick was pretty but snoozy compared to the previous one. Also I would suggest going to the olive tasting after the second winery when people could use a slow down on wine. We went after the first winery/dinner. Everyone was full of food but had not had much wine yet, so olive oil was not that appealing. All and all we had fun and out your driver was great. We would recommend this tour :)

  • 3Our tour started off great! Jake, our guide from EcoZip, was very good and made the drive to the EcoZip very fun! The EcoZip was utterly fantastic! Everyone was great and it was a really good experience . However, from there it went downhill fast! Jake dropped us off back at the Waiheke Ferry Terminal, we had a bus with 40 plus people on board. We were herded on the overcrowded bus and began a rather boring trek to the first winery. The sheer amount of people on this tour made it hard to get in on all that was offered, at the olive oil stop, everything was long gone by the time we got to the counter to 'try' the oils! The lunch stop at Stoneyridge Winery was overcooked cold quiche! A very ordinary salad and dry bread! Very dissappointed with that! There were so many people at this designated lunch spot that 4 people in our group, including myself and my husband, had to eat our cold quiche and undressed salad in another area. The 3 tables and benches were to small for all the people in our group. Had I known when I booked this tour, that it would be so packed, with 40 plus people, I never would have booked it! So to conclude my review....please include in your online info regarding this tour, how many people will be on it. The only part of this tour that was good was the EcoZip! Stay away from the 'wine tour!' (Ed. Thanks Pamela, we have passed your comments onto the Operators involved and the itinerary has now been amended as of 8 May 2014 - feedback works!).
