Day by Day Tour Itinerary

Day 1
Wellington

On arrival make your way to the QT Museum Wellington. The rest of today is at leisure to enjoy the local sights.

New Zealand’s capital city is nestled between rolling hills and a stunning harbour, it’s vibrant, compact downtown area that’s best explored on foot. In Wellington you’ll discover an amazing range of cafes, art galleries, theatres, attractions and a humming nightlife. The gourmet food and wine experiences of the Wairarapa region are also just a short drive away. There are many visitor attractions, tours and activities within the city environs. Arts, culture, fine dining and breathtaking natural scenery – that’s what Wellington’s all about!

Day 2
Wellington

Wellington is the arts capital of New Zealand. Today you’ll enjoy a morning tour exploring the city’s art and architecture, where beautiful Victorian buildings sit alongside daring architectural designs. Tour Wellington’s intriguing early suburbs and visit Old St Paul’s Church and the Victorian birthplace of famous writer, Katherine Mansfield.

You’ll also visit private studios to see local artists at work as well as learn about the culture and work of internationally renowned artists and craftspeople. Explore the art collection at some of New Zealand’s leading galleries and learn about the rich mix of Maori, Pacific and European history. Take a stroll along the waterfront and view a living work of art, packed with poetry, sculpture, artwork and people set against a spectacular harbour.

The city of Wellington is home to Te Papa, the national museum, which tells the story of New Zealand’s history through bold and interactive exhibits. Entry is free, though charges apply to some short-term exhibitions and activities. New Zealand’s geology and natural environment and the stories of New Zealand’s indigenous people, the Māori, are celebrated in Te Papa’s permanent exhibitions and top-rating international exhibitions tour regularly. It is open 10am-6pm each day with extended hours on Thursday till 9pm. A visit to Te Papa is a ‘must-do’ on any visit to Wellington.
