  • Independent New Zealand Tours

    Independent tours are an ideal way to explore New Zealand if you don't wish to drive. We pre-book all your travel arrangements including coach, rail and ferry transport, accommodation, transfers between your transport and key sightseeing activities. We can add and take off days in the middle, start or end of your tour and you can choose whether to add breakfasts. While the coaches do not have dedicated tour guides, the multi-talented coach drivers provide excellent onboard commentary.

  • Accommodation Levels

    Your tour accommodation is in specially chosen properties, centrally located and of a high standard. Choose from 3 levels of accommodation on every itinerary! Motels & Apartments, Mid Range Hotels & Premium Hotels. All accommodation is subject to availability at the time of booking so get in early!

  • Daily Departures

    Our independent coach tours operate every day, using regular coach, train, airline and ferry services. This provides you with excellent flexibility when planning your tour to fit in with your flights and any other holiday arrangements.

  • Coastal Pacific Train Journey

    If your itinerary includes the Coastal Pacific train, then please be aware it does not operate from May to September and will be replaced by a coach journey during this period. This amendment to the itinerary is factored into our winter pricing.

  • Coach Commentary

    Coaches do not have dedicated tour guides, however the multi-talented coach drivers provide excellent onboard commentary on most routes. There are a few of routes between cities in NZ where no commentary is provided. See FAQ's below for a list of routes without commentary.

  • Transfers

    We organise all your transfers and these are are by shuttle service. If you'd prefer to be picked up by a private driver service please request this at time of booking as prices are not too much more in most cases.

    Arrive in Auckland

    Welcome to Auckland, New Zealand’s largest city and a hub for shopping and dining. On arrival you will be met and transferred to your accommodation. Enjoy the opportunity to explore this fascinating city. Auckland has so much to offer, from deserted islands just off the coast, lush native bush out west, and sophisticated inner city streets ideal for shopping and dining. Take some time to explore Auckland's vibrant waterfront this afternoon, and even better if time permits add an extra day in Auckland to experience a slice of what this city has to offer.

    Auckland - Lake Taupo

    This morning board your coach and enjoy a comfortable journey south through New Zealand's Waikato region known for its rich agricultural and pastoral landscapes, this large fertile basin is created by the Waikato River. You will pass through the picturesque tree-lined town of Cambridge before stopping for refreshments at the timber town of Tokoroa. Continue south to your final destination of Taupo. Arriving just after midday, you have plenty of time this afternoon to explore this thrilling town that boasts the largest freshwater lake in Australasia. The afternoon is free for you to explore or relax.

  • Day3

    Taupo Sightseeing Tour - Rotorua (2 nights)

    This morning you join a small group guided tour of Taupo's main attractions and sights. Taking in Taupo's picturesque lakefront, and township, visit Taupo Marina, the Huka Falls - New Zealand’s most visited tourist attraction. Walk amongst the steam clouds of the Craters of the Moon and experience boiling mudpools and bubbling hotsprings. You also visit 'Huka Honey Hive' & sample the wild honey & taste delicious real honey ice cream. Next is Wairakei Geothermal Borefield which harnesses geothermal steam & then onto Aratiatia Rapids which has a spectacular daily flooding of the some of the biggest and most scenic rapids in Australasia. After your guided tour around Taupo its back onboard the coach heading north to Rotorua. Tonight you will attend a hangi (feast) and concert, an authentic and intimate Maori experience. (D)

    Rotorua Sightseeing - Tarawera & Lakes Duck Tour

    Enjoy a morning sightseeing tour around three of Rotorua's iconic visitor attractions. Experience Te Puia, a centre of Maori culture and a thermal wonderland of impressive geysers and boiling mud pools. Visit Rainbow Springs Nature Park, which showcases native flora and fauna as well as the New Zealand Kiwi. Then see NZ's agricultural industry in action with a sheep shearing display and sheep dog trials at the Agrodome.

    After lunch join a discovery of Rotorua and its lakes onboard a WWII Landing Craft. Your first lake visit is Lake Okareka with its amazing million dollar homes and abundance of bird life. Next you journey out past the Sacred Lake Rotokakahe (the Green Lake) to see the magnificent volcanic domes of Mount Tarawera. Your second plunge will be into Lake Tarawera where you will hear the stories of the devastation of that fateful day of the eruption in 1886. After cruising Tarawera you can disembark for your opportunity to capture the perfect picture and stretch your legs. Your return trip brings into view Te Wairoa (The Buried Village) before splashing down into Tikitapu (the Blue Lake) your third lake visit. Your homeward leg takes you past Rotorua’s burgeoning Te Whakarewarewa Forest back to the sulphurous aroma of Rotorua. This is a fun and enjoyable way to learn about Rotorua and New Zealand’s most picturesque Lakes Region.

    Rotorua - Waitomo Glowworm Caves - Auckland

    After an early morning departure from Rotorua you'll be travelling west through lush farmland towards Waitomo. Enjoy a guided tour through the world famous Waitomo Glowworm Caves with their amazing stalactites, stalagmites and other limestone formations. After the tour you will continue on to Auckland arriving in the city mid-afternoon.
