Arrive Wellington

We’ll meet you on arrival and transfer you to your hotel. Once unpacked, journey to New Zealand’s national museum, Te Papa Tongarewa, renowned for its interactivity, followed by a visit to the Weta Workshop. This evening, make new friends over a delicious welcome dinner

Day 2
Wellington - Picton - Blenheim

This morning board the Interislander ferry and cross Cook Strait. This journey is one of the most picturesque cruises in the world. Disembark in Picton in the South Island and continue to Blenheim in the picturesque Marlborough region, savour a delicious degustation dinner paired with exceptional local wines.

Day 3
Blenheim - Freedom of Choice Touring

Choose from three exciting sightseeing inclusions in Blenheim today. Perhaps learn about historic aircraft on a tour of the Ōmaka Aviation Heritage Centre. You may like to enjoy the natural beauty of the Marlborough Sounds during a greenshell mussel cruise, or visit some of region’s best wineries on a half-day tour. (B, D)

Blenheim - Kaikoura

Travel to the coastal town of Kaikoura today, which presents a perfect opportunity for marine spotting. Embark on an unbelievable whale-watching cruise, and perhaps experience an up-close encounter with a Giant Sperm Whale. You may also have the chance to see New Zealand Fur Seals, pods of Dusky Dolphins and the endangered Wandering Albatross.

Kaikoura - Christchurch

Travel towards Christchurch, proudly holding the colloquial title of the Garden City. Christchurch is well known for its English heritage and botanic gardens.

Day 6
Christchurch - Akaroa - Christchurch

Embark on a city sights tour of Christchurch, where you will see the Canterbury Museum, Cathedral Square and Riccarton House and Bush. Afterwards, enjoy your Signature Experience.

Travel to Akaroa, where you will board a cruise to get up close to friendly dolphins. Returning back to Christchurch later this evening. (B)

Day 7
Christchurch - TranzAlpine Train - Franz Josef

Today is sure to be a highlight of your holiday as you join New Zealand’s famous TranzAlpine train. Prepare to experience one of the world’s greatest train journeys as you voyage from Christchurch to Arthur’s Pass. Journey through the striking patchwork farmlands of the Canterbury Plains before travelling through deep gorges and river valleys, and across the Southern Alps within Arthur’s Pass National Park. Re-board your coach at Arthur’s Pass and set out for Hokitika. Here, see pounamu (jade) being carved into jewellery. Later, continue along the dramatic west coast into Westland Tai Poutini National Park, home to the magnificent Franz Josef Glacier. Take in the stunning alpine scenery in this impressive World Heritage Area. Check in to your luxury eco-resort before enjoying a four-course degustation dinner this evening.

Franz Josef

Today, Select your included sightseeing activity. Perhaps embark on a hike along an ancient path where a glacier once stood; as you encounter lush rainforest and pristine waterfalls. You also have the option to upgrade to a heli-hike, whoch includes a scenic helicopter flight over Franz Josef Glacier – additional cost and subject to weather, availability and minimum numbers. Alternatively, immerse yourself in the Glacier Hot Pools for an incredible hot springs experience, plus visit the West Coast Wildlife Centre to get up close to New Zealand’s unique wildlife. (B. D)

Day 9
Franz Josef - Arrowtown - Queenstown

Enjoy a day of breathtaking scenery travelling along the Haast River Valley as you venture into the Central Otago region. See the vistas and surrounding mountains that shift moods with the seasons.

View historic mining sites in Arrowtown as we travel through the beautiful Kawarau Gorge and meander through Cromwell. Pass the incredible orchards and vineyards that have been inspiring artists for decades before arriving in Queenstown, where you’ll stay for three nights in comfortable and stylish accommodation.

Day 10
Queenstown - Freedom of Choice Touring

Today presents the opportunity to indulge your interests with our wide selection of Freedom of Choice activities. Depart Queenstown
