It was easy to arrange a tour for my mom. I am glad I contacted the right company. Having another stay in the same room for one day after the tour for free including breakfast was very comfortable for me as mom required some time to rest after the trip. Many thanks.

Over all this was a very good tour. There were times when we as, New Zealanders, felt a little more time in some places and less in others would have given more balance to the tour for the overseas visitors. However I realise this is very difficult as there is only so much one can show in a short time. Meals and hotels were excellent we've been on five bus tours before in Europe and UK and meals and hotels did not come up to the same standard of this New Zealand Tour.

South Island New Zealand is beautiful! The scenery was worth the trip in itself! We were a bit weary of riding so much in the bus the last two days. By that time I would have preferred traveling straight back to Christchurch instead of going inland again. We liked most of the accommodations but felt very cramped in our Ibis room as there were 3 of us and there was very little water pressure with the shower. We started and ended our trip in the same room at the Ibis, so this was unfortunate. Our tour guide, Isobel, was enthusiastic and offered good suggestions for places to eat when we were on our own. Food overall was very good. I would definitely travel with AATKings again.

Weather sunny on the important days in Queenstown and Milford. We could do everything we had planned. The triple share rooms worked out well. A bit of a squash at Ibis but rest very good. Mark was a knowledgeable tour guide and very helpful. Trent is an excellent driver. The itinerary was well planned giving us plenty of time to do extras. My two suggestions to improve the trip are (1) to have a set dinner on the night you arrive in Queenstown as it is a long day's drive from Franz Josef to Queenstown, and (2) for the last night in Christchurch to have a dinner together with the group to say goodbye to everyone.

Our coach tour of the South Island was a wonderful experience and we are so glad we chose this option instead of the self-drive holiday we had been considering. It was a holiday without stress, as we were able to enjoy the magnificent scenery without worrying about negotiating roads and routes, and everything was very well planned with good accommodation and delicious meals. The itinerary was excellent, with the inclusions we would have chosen ourselves, so we didn't feel we needed to do the optional activities, but fellow travelers who did choose the options were excited about their experiences. There was a good balance of active days experiencing spectacular scenery and more leisurely days of exploring the interesting towns of Queenstown and Dunedin. The cruise on Milford Sound was breathtaking and was the highlight of the trip for me. AAT Kings looked after us really well, as everyone had told us they would, and they did indeed exceed our expectations in the itinerary and their care of us. Mark's commentary was really clear and interesting and well chosen for each part of the trip, and Trent was an excellent driver, so we felt safe and comfortable at all times, and his navigation display that he and Mark had designed was really helpful in showing our location and estimated times. Relaxing Journeys was really good to deal with, and everything went smoothly with arrangements and payments. Thank you, Mani at Relaxing Journeys, for your help and cheerfulness, and thank you to the team at Relaxing Journeys for making this tour available for us to find online. We thoroughly recommend this tour and are telling our family and friends about it.

Overall, very satisfied. Tour leader, driver and accommodation all highly satisfactory. Only personal wish for anything to be different would be for less buffet dinners. These were the norm almost every evening and invariably were rushed affairs. I would gladly pay a bit extra for waiter service.

Toni (ahead of the tour) provided excellent and prompt support. I would recommend Relaxing Journeys to anyone. AAT Kings was also excellent. Kellie (the tour director) and Kerry (the driver) made a wonderful and very friendly team. They were both very knowledgeable about NZ. Neither had worked together before but were excellent together. They made themselves available to everyone at almost anytime. Well recommended to anyone. Two small \"niggles\". The coaches air conditioning didn't work for the first 3 days (when it was altogether too hot in the coach). This was fixed after those 3 days. To me, the hotel in the last tour stop (Oamoru) was not up to the standard of the other hotels (which were very good to excellent).

Fabulous country with fantastic scenery. I enjoyed every minute of the journey, the comfy hotels and the polite welcoming people we met throughout the tour. Our tour guide and driver were exceptional. Their help and knowledge were second to none. Well done guys! Mani, when I first booked this tour online many months ago I thought with my luck something is bound to go wrong. It didn't. It went amazingly well right from start to finish and I would like to thank you and all involved in making the tour a wonderful holiday. Well done and thank you all so very much.

It was a great tour, we covered a lot of ground but it was all interesting. Mark the tour guide was excellent and well informed. The coach was comfortable and the driver was happy for people to use the onboard toilet when necessary. Early starts bet that enabled us to spend time where it was wanted. Hotels were excellent and the meals outstanding. Included excursions and the choice of extra excursions was good. A great tour well worth doing.

Fabulous overall trip. Beautiful scenery with very courteous, friendly and knowledgeable tour guide and driver. Only disappointing part was some of the accommodation was 'very ordinary' and some others were excellent. We were well looked after from when we landed in New Zealand with our airport pickup until the day we left which was a few days after the end of our tour when we were taken to the airport for our departure. We hardly had to lift our bags for the whole trip!

Overall an excellent trip. Our first coach holiday; living out of suitcase, moving each day, making new friends, etc. Tour guide; Bridget and Driver; Mike, worked well together. Hotels were genrally good, some better than others. On the survey form that AAT Kings gave us I made a suggestion for a survey form for the hotels, excursions, etc. that would be given out at the start to allow you (or AAT Kings) to review suitability and quality of these 'as we went along' rather than at the end. Disappointed with not seeing glaciers close up. Not the impression from the brochure, etc. Also flight excursions were not booked until the day before. Result was glacier flights would not go until 11am; too late for the coach. If I had booked it with the holiday I would have been really annoyed. As the flight can be cancelled with a few hours notice surely it would be better to book and cancel rather than leave it to the last. Just a thought! Overall good.

This is a fantastic tour which was very well-organized and my family enjoyed the trip very much. Both the tour guide and driver (ie the two Marks) were a great team notwithstanding that it was their first time working together. We could get along very well with everyone irrespective of our nationality. Hotel accommodation, food and transport were very good. It is truly a much better package/coverage than my previous NZ trip with another travel agent 18 years ago. Last but not least, would also like to thank Mani for making all the arrangements for us, without which we would not be able to have such a wonderful trip to New Zealand. Well done Relaxing Journeys and AAT Kings!

Absolutely fantastic and jam packed with amazing scenery. Sometimes a little too much time on the bus but with Marty as tour director and Paul as driver even the bus was bearable. Some longer stop overs could only improve this tour. We would definitely do it again but make sure to allow a few days to get over it as it is totally exhausting in an exhilarating way.

We had a great experience with your tour, we loved our guide and driver and the itinerary was very enjoyable. Staying at the Ibis so close to the Earthquake damage was a great eye-opener. Our hotels and meals were generally very good but we did have concerns on the one meal (but we have just returned home after a long Australia trip too and I forget exactly the name). We definitely felt the tour met our expectations and more. Meeting the people on the tour was also rewarding and we felt lucky to have people that were friendly and punctual so things went smoothly. We had a wonderful time made some good friends Bridget and Mike. The drivers were excellent . It was a very good trip and a lot was packed in to the itinerary. The accomodation and food was very good apart from the last night at the Heritage at Omarama - the rooms smelt and were musty as if damp. Also the food was not as good as previous hotels. It was a shame really, as it was our last night together. Perhaps some one should look into that. We did complain to Reception but no one seemed bothered. Apart from that could not fault it and would definitely recommend the tour to our friends. Thanks for giving us some lovely memories.

My wife and I (both 60) have just returned from or first NZ visit on a brilliant 9 day AAT Kings South Island October tour. We have previously travelled independently and on coach tours in Europe in & USA and by car in Tasmania & Hawaii and we heartily recommend a coach tour for NZ. The age groups varied from 20s to 70. A few in their 40s and 50s. A few Aussies, English, Irish, Americans, Swedes, Canadians, Scots, Malaysians & South Africans. Really nice and friendly middle of the road people. We thoroughly researched the trip and the value for money was more than competitive with independent travel. The coach was very comfortable with a smooth ride (thanks Paul) - we both managed to catch quite a few cat naps. The tour director Lu was world class. The hotels were excellent, centrally located and the food and service top notch. The sightseeing was WOW! everyday. The optional tours were well chosen at market price and you could even change your mind at the last minute. Even though you have unpack at every town, porterage is included and we didn't have to handle our bags at all. The beauty of a good coach tour is that once you arrive at the airport everything is taken of. Just relax and enjoy the best that NZ has to offer. Michelle and the team at Relaxing Journeys are very helpful.

Overall, the tour could do with at least 2 nights at each accommodations to avoid living out of the suitcase. More so, I noticed there were a majority of elderly tourists than young ones. I think we were the only two very young girls from Japan. The Tour Director, Marty Mahiti & Tour Chauffer Paul Luxmoore (I hope I got their names right) were very accommodating, as far as my husband & I were concerned. Very knowledgeable & informative. The sites were spectacular, & we shall, definitely, be making our 3rd trip to NZ, again. Our 1st was in Sep 2004, touring the North Island from Auckland to Chrischurch & back. Thank you.

Upside was that we went to Mount Cook village and had fantastic views of the mountain. Tour guide was knowledgeable. What a wonderful experience this tour was! The scenery, the activities included in the price and the lack of any pressure to go on the optional activities was greatly appreciated. The accommodation was top notch too. I have to make special mention of the tour leader, Phil Wilson. Nothing was too much trouble for him, and his calm manner and respect for everyone made sure the tour ran smoothly. Along with the driver, Vale, who was also excellent, they made a great pair. From the start this was a wonderful experience. Kirby, the tour consultant, was very helpful when deciding which tour to select and quickly answered any questions I had. Once on the tour, the tour manager was very knowledgeable and made sure everyone was enjoying their experience. One comment that I would give to future travelers is, since the tour covers so many locations in a short period of time it can feel that you are moving to much and don't get enough time to enjoy the stops.

We had a great time, even though the earthquake disrupted the tour. We only have praise for our tour guide and driver (Bob and Nellie). They went out of their way to make our trip memorable. The tour itself was excellent, the hotels were clean and tidy. The meals came a bit too much with baked dinners every night though. The only downside we found was the people touring with us were a bit too old for us, most were retired or in their sixties. So we missed a bit of nightlife as most were in bed by 8 with their cups of tea. Nevertheless we would recommend the coach tour to everyone, if we went on our own we would of missed a lot of sights. We are now planning to go next year to see the North Island.

First and most important was the excellence of Ted, our tour guide, and Murray our driver. They have to be your very very best. I was extremely nervous as there have been some horrific bus accidents in South Africa. Right from the start I had the utmost confidence in Murray's driving - safe, slow when necessary and we even had some excellent commentary when Ted was on the TranzAlpine with some of our fellow travellers. Thank you so much Murray. As for Ted, what a mine of information he imparted to us. And his little anecdotes had us in stitches. Thank you so much Ted. Please make sure these 2 men hear how much we appreciate them and how delighted we are that we were lucky enough to be on their tour. The tour was well organised and all of us, I am sure, felt part of everything. Instructions were clear and to the point and fully understandable. The accommodation was very good. We will definitely recommend your company to any interested people. We had a lovely relaxing journey for which many thanks.

Overall the tour was fantastic, the Tour Director (Julieanne) was very knowledgeable, helpful, empathetic and professional. The bus driver (Paul) was very capable gentleman and personable. He has got to be the best driver I have ever seen, we all felt very safe with him at the helm. The way these two people shared the journey with us and their personal experiences was wonderful. Their pride in their country shone through. Above all they had a great sense of humour and did not take themselves too seriously. We intend to come back to NZ in the next two years and without question we will go with your company again because the service and hospitality was exceptional. I have renamed NZ - The Land of the Long White Buffet - the food and service on the tour was UNBELIEVABLY GOBB SMAKINGLY FANTASTIC. We feel that NZ is our second home the scenery and people are second to none. I have only two suggestions I would like to make to improve the tour. 1. The first day that we went Christchurch on the TranzAlpine and the trip in the afternoon was too much for the first day. Maybe stopping overnight in Greymouth will solve this problem or giving the Pancake Rocks a miss. 2. The middle seat up the back should be not used. We had a young girl of 13 years traveling with us and every time she was up the back she felt ill, so we were lucky enough to have 3 couples and we could swap with her so she could be down the front. Apart from these minor things the tour was great and I have recommended it to several people. Keep up the good work!

The coach tour was just magnificent and wonderful. I just couldn't believe how beautiful the country truly is. I enjoyed the helicopter flight to Fox Glacier and to stand on ice and snow for the first time was just awesome. Milford Sound was pure magic, even though it rained. The wildlife was amazing to see the penguins, seals, kea, and the royal albatross colony. The glowworms at Te Anau are amazing to see and the boat trip across Lake Te Anau just on sunset was stunning. The country was filled with beautiful flowers even though some are pests such as Broom and Gorse that made the country very picturesque with the colour yellow. One of my favourite photos is looking across Lake Tekapo towards Aoraki/Mount Cook and Mount Tasman with the Luppins on the foreshore. The Tour Director was a true entertainer who kept everyone entertained with information pertaining to each district we travelled through. The bus driver was a very experienced and careful making everyone feel safe. If I plan to travel by bus again, I would like to travel with same Tour Director. I am planning to come back to explore the North Island of New Zealand February 2012. Thank you for helping me enjoy my time in New Zealand.

I fell in love with the West Coast of the South Island. Magnificent country with divine scenery. Our tour guide Ted was just great he knew so much and kept us amused. The driver Tamati was also a perfect gentleman and good driver. The tour was definetely one of the best I have ever done, and I have already recommended this tour to my friends and family overseas. So yes it was to die for and I will visit NZ again on some other tour. Many thanks for the great service as all went to schedule. No hitches all people on the tour were great so we all had lots and lots of fun. Well done!

Thoroughly enjoyed the trip. The sights were truly spectacular, the hotels very comfortable and the meals were very good. The coach director and driver were superb, so helpful. We were really lucky that the majority of our fellow travellers were great fun which helped the trip go really well. I will return one day to do the North Island.

Really enjoyed the tour. Thought the tour leader Mel was excellent. Disappointed by the TranzAlpine railway, definitely over rated. Highlights were the Helicopter trip to the Glacier and Haast River jet boat ride. Loved Christchurch and Queenstown. I thought there was insufficient time at Lannach Castle. Accommodation and food were of a good standard. Thanks.

We thoroughly enjoyed the tour. It was well run with an excellent tour guide who was informative, well organised with a cheerful manner that put everyone at their ease. The tour guide was well backed up by the driver who was friendly and helpful throughout as well as demonstrating excellent driving skills. My wife and I believe it was an excellent way to introduce our granddaughter (13yrs) to another country.

The tour went very smoothly from the booking with Georgina to the final transport to the airport. Our Tour Director Julie Hodgson was absolutley superb with her vast knowledge & expertise. She also worked very well with our driver Paul who was also excellent. The only criticism was the inital meeting at the airport which was an absolute shambles. The 10 of us on the transfer bus were all of the same opinion. Thankfully this first impression was the exact opposite to the rest of the tour. Thank you for a wonderful trip.

This was the first time my husband and I had done a conducted tour, and it certainly won't be the last! From start to finish this tour was excellent. We were blessed with mainly good weather and lovely travelling companions. The hotels were good and all arrangements went off without a hitch. Special mention needs to be made of our tour director, Ngaire, and driver Julian. Nothing was too much trouble and Ngaire went out of her way to help us (oldies!). Her knowledge of all the areas visited was very informative. She also handled, what could have been a difficult situation with a fellow traveller, with aplomb! Ngaire and Julian made a great team - I think we were very lucky to have them. Our friend from S.Africa, Norah Clegg, was also full of praise for the tour. We would have no hesitation in recommending an this tour.

To tell you the truth it was a wonderful experience from the first dinner. None of us had met before we seemed to bond very quickly as a group. I myself a religious sister did not feel out of place wearing my religious habit. Our tour guide was Ted and our driver was Linda. Wherever where we travelled the bad weather was behind us, so we had perfect weather, except the last day we prayed to see snow falling and God answered our prayer to our joy and our poor drivers dismay. Don't worry we back tracked and went a different way to Christchurch. It was a wonderful trip I will not seek to do it again because I would spoil my first trips memories. One thing I can say is to help other people with allergies in food, The Ibis Hotel did not try to supply me with Proper Breakfast cereal or Non wheat bread and I had spent over four days there. Other hotels had proper breakfast cereal and no bread, went out of their way to get both. If the people with food problems could have their needs met at the hotels life would be a breeze. God bless Ted And Linda they did a great job.

We had a wonderful time in NZ. The correspondence we received from Relaxing Journeys and particularly Georgina Walpole prior to the trip was excellent. We were met at the airport as promised and the tour went exactly as planned. The tour director, Marty was very knowledgeable and most gracious to all the travellers. We were provided with lots of extra adventures and clearly advised of the cost beforehand. It added extra spice and excitement to the trip which participants could have as much of as they felt like. The accommodation was great and the food at each venue was excellent. There was always plenty. We fell in love with NZ, particularly the South Island and would love to travel there again.

The tour, though low cost, was very good. The tour director was very helpful and informative. Hotels were good and some had fantastic views from the rooms. In the short period, most of the tourist attractions were covered. The tour representative, AAT Kings was excellent. Thank you for the 5% discount on my future tours, I would definitely recommend you to my friend and relatives With kind regards Sarah.
