1 Day Rob Roy Glacier Guided Walk

Itinerary (Queenstown or Wanaka Return)

This full day walk starts from Queenstown with a scenic drive over the Crown Range (or pick-up from Wanaka) and into the Matukituki Valley west of Lake Wanaka in the Mount Aspiring National Park. Walk up through beech forest to view the magnificent Rob Roy Glacier. High snow capped mountains provide a magnificent backdrop for the drive and walk up this beautiful river valley.

This walk is an excellent walk for people interested in variety, lake, river valley, forests, mountain views, geology, glaciers, native birds and/or photography

Tour Inclusions:

• All transport to and from Queenstown or Wanaka accommodation
• Snacks (& lunch & bottled water on full day hikes)- including tea/coffee, cookies

• Walking Time: 5 hours (approx)
• Walking Distance: 10 kms (reasonable fitness required)
• Track: Well used uneven walking track (4-5kms each way - 5-600m elevation)

• Return Details: 17:00pm

What You Should Bring:

• Sensible footwear - closed toe
• A warm / sun hat / gloves
• Waterproof / windproof / warm clothing for changeable weather
• Small daypack
• A reasonable level of fitness will ensure an enjoyable walk

General Information:

• Child price is 14yrs old and under. No charge for small children that are carried by parents.
• The maximum number per guide is six persons with a minimum of two
• Larger groups will be broken up into small groups with one guide to each group
• You must follow the instructions of the guide and parents please ensure that your children do the same.
• Please advise your guide if you have any physical conditions that may affect your enjoyment of our walk today
