Tour Itinerary
This tour enables you to visit the Waitomo Glowworm Caves and a number of leading attractions in Rotorua, including a Farm Show and Te Puia with its mighty geysers & boiling mud pools, and a cultural performance of Maori song and dance inside Te Puia’s sacred meeting house.
While onboard your coach from Waitomo to Rotorua a light lunch is served. After an action-packed day, your coach returns to Auckland.
Geothermal Phenomena
From the moment you arrive, the scent of sulphur tells you that Rotorua is different. Steam escapes from crevices in the ground, gardens bloom alongside bubbling craters and geysers shoot for the sky.
Cultural Hub of New Zealand
Voted New Zealand’s Most Beautiful City in 1999, 2000 and 2002, Rotorua’s striking gardens, cobbled streets and fascinating mix of Maori and English Tudor architecture give the city a significant point of difference.
Maori Spirit
In Rotorua’s geothermal villages, the tradition of guiding and sharing cultural heritage has been passed down through the generations. You'll find it expressed with true warmth and energy.

Malcom was a joy as a tour guide. I had a wonderful time on the tour. I covered so much ground in 13 hours and know that I will try to come back again. He was knowledgeable and informative and funny. Great tour.

Our Coach driver was fantastic - up beat yet so informative- a very warm welcome and and remained to show exceeding customer service through out the day. All activities included great guides- fun yet informative and professional. Felt I really made the most of my short stay in New Zealand. Would recommend and use again.

The long day didn't seem long because the trip was very comfortable and efficiently run. Our driver-guide's commentary kept us entertained on the outbound journey. It was a great mix of the modern and historical as we passed the various towns. We especially enjoyed his comments on modern NZ life, such as sports, taxes and healthcare. Sure some of it is only one man's opinion (and he's obviously proud of his country), but it's the kind of thing you can't read in a brochure or travel guide.

At first it seemed that we had no booking until I realised that we were booked as Mr and Mrs Keri, my christian name. This caused some angst for a time. We really enjoyed the Waitomo Caves and Rotorua but could have spent more time at both and missed the Agrodome. (We have plenty of farms in Australia but understand that some may find it interesting.) My gluten free lunch did not arrive, causing the bus driver some extra hassle, and I'm not confident that the early morning muffin was gluten free. This is not a lifestyle choice but a serious health issue. A spray jacket left on the bus was not located though we phoned as soon as we arrived back at our hotel and again the next day. Over all though the experience was enjoyable. There was also some confusion about who was returning us to our hotel.

This was a really good tour. Considering there was a lot of travelling from Auckland, there was a lot packed in. The only slight dissapointment was having ordered a vegetarian lunch which I received,( and was excellent), we were provided with a snack in the evening, which was a chicken sandwich! The bus driver did not seem to grasp that vegetarians could not eat this and was a bit dismissive. (There was a large family of vegetarians beside myself on the tour, which meant probably a higher proportion than normal of the tour party. This is the only criticism, as it was a wonderful day, and the driver was very pleasant and informative. Despite being a very cold day, I enjoyed the tour and would reccomend it to anyone.

I thoroughly enjoyed the trip,it was very well organised and there was pleny information commentary by the driver and tour guides. I would have preferred less time on the farm amd more time at Rotorua as I felt the time there was a little rushed, however that would be my only criticism.

Very well, tightly organized program, outstanding guide knowledge and performace. Worth every penny of it.

We had a excellent day. The tour guide was informative and had humorous. We particularly enjoyed the time at Te Puia but felt it was very rushed. Only 10 minutes to see the geysers was way to short. The time spent at the farm was good but to long, we would have liked more time in Te Puia. Overall the highlight of our trip. Thank You

Very good day tour. We visited 3 major destinations with enough time built in to see everything sufficiently, without feeling rushed. Tour guide was very good also.

We had been to auckland only for 4 days and wanted a one day experience. The tour was great. The guide commentary was very informative. The lunch and the afternoon tea served was great! Highly recommend this tour.

IT was enjoyable and informative but I would have preferred more Maori cultural activities than the commercial sites we visited. The driver and attendant were very good.

We had a fantastic holiday in New Zealand. It is our best relaxing and enjoyable holiday. We learned a lot about the beautiful country from the well- spoken and knowledgeable tour guides. Great Sights is a very professional tour company. They have nice and pleasant staff and magnificent transport facilities as well as rest points venues in between the long day tours. The Waitomo and Rotorua Experience is highly commendable. (GS16L). Our tour guide and hostess were very professional. Thank you for your website, it was very handy to plan a fantastic holiday.
