Auckland has hosted the most prestigious yacht races in the world including the America's Cup Yacht Race, the oldest and ultimate yachting regatta. The Auckland Harbour Sailing Experience is a great way for those with limited time to experience Auckland's harbour known as the 'City of Sails'.
Board the 50 foot Pride of Auckland Yacht and either sit back, relax and enjoy the highlights of Auckland whilst your
knowledgeable crew tell you about the interesting sights; or be more active and hands on. Take the helm and experience these impressive, powerful but extremely safe 50 foot yachts as they glide through the winds over the sparkling water.
Sail out of the Waitemate Harbour to the islands of the Hauraki Gulf. Cruise Browns Island, Motuihe Island, Motutapu Island, Rakino Island, the western tip of Waiheke Island along with the ever dominant Rangitoto Island. Choose a sheltered anchorage for an opportunity to go ashore for a walk or a swim from the beach. Early afternoon the sails are set to continue your course around the islands before heading back to Auckland.
Optional Lunch Box includes: Freshly baked baguette filled with chicken, mature cheddar cheese and Dijon mustard Vegetarian baguette filled with chargrilled jingle bell peppers, aubergine, fresh basil, rocket and Fiddlers Hill goats cheese whip Double chocolate brownie Apple or Peer (fruit in season). All meals are prepared by Kermadec Restaurant & Bar in the Viaduct.

I recommend this tour for anyone who is looking for sailing in Auckland. The boat was not crowded with many people (only 6 people + 2 crew members). The crew were very friendly and allowed us to 'help' during the sailing. They explained us some basic sailing techniques and we could practice it on the boat. We had good times in this journey.
