Fyffe Country Lodge is a stunning boutique lodge offering luxury accommodation and a licensed NZ award-winning restaurant.

Our Kaikoura luxury B&B lodge is surrounded by beautiful English gardens, and the views are to the slopes of Mt Fyffe and the Kaikoura seaward ranges across farmlands with red deer, sheep and cattle. Fyffe Country Lodge is set upon the Elms Estate and was built in 1993. The renowned New Zealand artist J Rasmussen and her husband Graeme created the main building.

In 1996 Chris Rye and Colin Ashworth purchased the property and decided to change the lodge from a casual cafe to an exclusive Kaikoura luxury B&B lodge catering to the international market. In 1999 they decided to add another building to cater to for an increasing number of clientele. To maintain the continuity of the lodge the same roofer and builder was employed and Fyffe Country Lodge was seamlessly extended.

The lodge is constructed of hand made mud blocks (rammed earth), the roof with its imported Canadian cedar shakes helps to create the old world charm and the timeless atmosphere that can be experienced at Fyffe Country Lodge. New Zealand recycled native timbers have been used extensively in the construction.

Fyffe Country Lodge is the perfect place to unwind, enjoy the stunning mountain scenery and to sample some of the best Marlborough and New Zealand wines, not to mention indulging in the regional delicacies of crayfish and abalone.

The lodge is at the end of a 250 metre walk, that finds you on the deserted Peketa beach, where you could be forgiven for thinking you lived in a world on your own. This beautiful sheltered stretch of coastline takes in views to the Kaikoura Peninsula and south as far as the Haumuri Bluff.
