Sea Kayak Abel Tasman

Ab Fab Marine Reserve Tour

Everybody says that you Have to DO the Abel Tasman National Park and it’s true you do, BUT You only have one day and you want to kayak, see seals, walk some our famous coastal track, and feel like you have done the best bits!

Well, you can, and this is the way to do it.

Our day starts with a fun Water taxi ride from Marahau to the centre of the Tonga Island Marine Reserve area, the golden sands of Onetahuti Beach.

Paddling off shore, we have our first visit with the cheeky New Zealand fur seals at Tonga Island. From there we kayak south experiencing intimately our bush clad coastline, hopefully spotting the shy little blue penguins, maybe drifting up a tranquil estuary, then finishing at beautiful Bark Bay.

This is where your walk begins.

After time for a spot of lunch and a swim in the aquamarine waters of the Abel Tasman head off (unguided) to explore the flora and fauna of our New Zealand native forest. Your walk will take you over the swing bridge at Falls River, a wonderful location for a photo opportunity.

At 4pm your water taxi will pick you up at Torrent Bay for an exhilarating ride back to Marahau.
