"Ipipiri" - the sacred Maori name for the Bay of Islands - has been chosen as the official name of the first ever overnight small cruise ship that will be permanently based in the Bay of Islands.
Featuring 30 identical king sized state rooms, all with ensuites and sea views, the luxury 46metre (150ft) catamaran also has a restaurant and bar area capable of accommodating up to 70 people.
The vessel can link in to unique cultural activities within the Bay, like cruising around 144 islands, including a visit the Hole in the Rock, looking for dolphins or guided island walks.
