Auckland - Wellington
Board your coach for a full-day journey from Auckland to Wellington. In Wellington
A morning tour of the capital city clustered under the foothills around the harbour. The half day tour takes in Parliament Buildings and 'Beehive', Old St Paul's Cathedral, and wind up Mt Victoria to view panoramic views of the harbour and city past houses precariously perched on the hillsides. Take an optional ride on the quaint cable car from Lambton Quay up to the Botanical Gardens. This afternoon is free, perhaps to visit the interactive Te Papa Museum or the Museum of City and Sea. |
Day
3 |
Wellington - Napier
Board your coach and travel via Palmerston North and Manawatu to the vineyards of the Hawkes Bay. You will be met and taken on a tour of the vineyards and the Napier district. Napier is the only city in the Hawke's Bay region and the largest crossbred wool centre in the Southern Hemisphere and one of the largest apple, pear and stone fruit producing areas in New Zealand. Overnight in Napier.

Napier - Rotorua
Napier draws art deco and architecture enthusiasts from around the world. This morning is free to explore the Art Deco city; we can recommend a guided walk. At midday you cross the Rangitaiki Plains to New Zealand's largest fresh water lake, Lake Taupo, the region being one of the last true wild trout fisheries in the world, and on through exotic forest to fiery Rotorua. Tonight we enjoy a Maori Hangi (feast) and Concert, a quintessential New Zealand experience. Stay two nights in Rotorua.

In Rotorua
This morning you will be met at your accommodation for your morning sightseeing tour of this city. Rotorua sits calmly atop some remarkable cracks in the earth's crust - sometimes giving the impression that the town is on fire. This impression is reinforced by the hot mists of Te Puia, roaring geysers and boiling mudpools heated to unbearable temperatures. Other highlights on your tour of Rotorua are the native and exotic vegetation at Rainbow Springs, which are world renowned for their pools of tame trout. The Agrodome Farm display features a vital section of New Zealand's agriculture, sheep shearing and a sheep dog display. This afternoon is free and there are many activities to enjoy. |
Day

Rotorua - Auckland
After leaving fiery Rotorua, you travel to Waitomo for a tour of the limestone caves. Board an underground punt to cruise in awe below a galaxy of glow worms. Continue via Hamilton and the Waikato River to Auckland once more. You arrive at approximately 5.10 pm. |

We had a wonderful time! We can't wait to go back and tour the southern island. Everybody was very friendly and tour was well organized and ran efficiently. Our only regret was that we couldn't spend more time in your lovely country!
