22 Day Steam Train Journey Reviews

Tour reviews from past clients of Relaxing Journeys for the 22 Day Steam Train Journey.
I was impressed by the way Craig communicated with me to make it a 'personalized' experience during the booking and arrangement aspects rather than a mass market wholesale approach. There is almost no reference to Relaxing Journeys on 'Trip Advisor' so there was not much information to indicate the professionalism that Relaxing Journeys brings to the booking and setting up of arrangements for a prospective client. However I was totally satisfied with Craig & Relaxing Journeys. I was also impressed by the pickup arrangements that Grand Pacific had at arrival and departure. The majority of the hotels were very good, and all were clean and comfortable. Most were also well located for local sight seeing on foot in the evening. The tour seemed somewhat expensive when I booked, however, given the prices of meals in New Zealand I quickly realized that the inclusion of both breakfast and dinners in the price was actually a significant cost saving. I was also very pleased with the coaches and coach drivers (Steve and Peter) and with Paul our tour leader. They were excellent in last organized last minute changes to the itinerary and routes to accommodate road closures and weather related problems as well as to accommodate the interests of the group. The various steam train excursions and the opportunities for photographing the trains in various locations were excellent. The choice of sites for the general tour were good and I was pleased that the tour route took in a large part of both the North and South Islands. The inclusion of Napier and surrounding area was an excellent choice. There was a very good choice of optional tours as well. I had a great time and felt that the tour was well worth the cost. I was also pleased to be able to take advantage of the room share arrangement.
